It is our pleasure to inform you that the second “European Border Dialogues” conference – a European forum for cross-border cooperation in a Wider Europe will take place in the cities of Kaliningrad (Russian Federation) and Elblag (Poland) during November 17-18, 2011. The conference will convene under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, in cooperation with partner organizations from the Kaliningrad Region of the Russian Federation and with the Warmian-Masurian voivodeship and the city of Elblag in Poland. Several independent think tanks and civil society organizations active in cross-border cooperation are actively engaged in launching this annual event focused on cross-border cooperation. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway and the Barents Secretariat are important partners in this undertaking as well.
At the first Annual Forum in Cross-Border Cooperation in a Wider Europe three personalities and two organisations were awarded Border Dialogues Prize for substantial contribution to cross-border cooperation. Presevo to host students from Macedonia and Kosovo at the cross border student integration through art competition day Around twenty students from Musa Zajmi and Bora Stankovic from Gjilan/Gnjilane, Koco Racin and Bajram Shabani from Kumanovo, Branko Radicevic from Trgoviste will travel to Presevo to take part in the Gjilan/Gnjilane-Presevo-Kumanovo-Trgoviste (GPKT) Schools Art Competition hosted by 15 Nentori school on 30 September 2009. This event brings together a multi-ethnic group of students from schools in each of the four municipalities in the border areas of Kosovo (Gjilan/Gnjilane), southern Serbia (Presevo and Trgoviste) and Kumanovo (Macedonia) to express their talent and interest in art. This is the first art competition to be held at 15 Nentori School in Presevo led by the GPKT Education Committee and organised by participating schools with support from the Institute for Stability and Development cross border cooperation project. The GPKT Education Committee has been actively involved in implementing a series of successful multi-ethnic, cross-border co-operation activities since November 2003 such as sports activities, cultural exchanges, English language camps, tolerance campaign days and publications with the aim to continue to build and strengthen relationships between students and teachers in the region.
